An electrical engineer by trade, about a decade ago, I turned into a Bioinformatician. After working at TUDelft and VU Amsterdam, I joined SkylineDx in 2014. My mission is making sense out of large genomic & medical data, by statistical analysis and machine learning, with one clear goal in mind: discover & validate molecular biomarkers with diagnostic, prognostic and predictive function that can really improve patients care. My work entails a lot of thinking: about the data, the algorithms, the right questions; and the right experiments; but the ultimate reward is to fulfill the many unmet clinical needs.
